The vabene method

The vabene method is a step-by-step procedure of establishing the causes of the static faulty posture and correcting these permanently and effectively via the endogenous reflex system of proprioception.

The examination takes between 30 and 50 minutes.

1. Initial consultation

A comprehensive consultation takes place at the beginning of the examination, including questions about pain. First indications are given for possible causes of pain arising from body statics.

2. Visual and postural diagnosis
This means identifying visibly noticeable alterations in posture which may be causing  pain.

3. Measurement of the spinal column and analysis of statics
The aim of this measuring procedure is to analyse the curvature of the spine. Deviations from standard values are often accompanied by characteristic changes in muscle tone.

There are basically two different types of posture: on the one hand HYPERTONIC and on the other hand HYPOTONIC:

4. Examination of shoulders and pelvis
The aim is to discover possible twisting and misalignment of the body axis which may be causing imbalance and muscular tension.

5. Palpation of the postural musculature
Palpation of the postural musculature is a fundamental criterion of the examination, for detectable muscle tension and tightness play an important role in the context of body statics.

The body is thus examined for possible muscular tension, especially tightness of the complexus major, the trapezius, the longissimus dorsi muscle, the calf muscles and the soles of the feet (fascia).
